Pancakes and Skateboards and....

...BMX? Never! P&S has always been about the four wheels 100% of the time...until now. I am making a one time exception for a post that hopefully doesn't equal more than .001% of 2 wheel content.

808 Local shredder Wesley ignores the no bike rule of the park and rips it up over and over again.

Just another day...

A fun photo from an early evening bowl session.

Don't be jealous that this park has lights to enable night time skate sessions, be jealous of the Hi-fi sound system!

Sometimes people in the background wreck a photo...sometimes they make the photo.

Rare sequence shots from Kihei

I only call these shots rare, because if you haven't noticed this is only the second post ever with sequence shots. I love the single still shot, but as much as I shy away from the sequence shots, I'll admit that single shots of most technical tricks just don't do the trick justice.

808 teaser

I guarantee there will be lots of photos captured while Pancakes and Skateboards tours the parks and skate spots of the 808.

To get you, the viewer as pysched as we are...here's a taste.

Many great things went down today above and beyond skateboarding... this huge boneless by Justin made the list of great things.

Local skater Johnny with a big fs ollie

I watched this guy Tommy for quite awhile. He had his technical game on lock.

Here's a kickflip over the stairs/gap. (He 3 flipped it the next day)

Brooks with a fakie ollie off the extenstion on the mini.

Great park, great locals... more to come.

Pancakes and Skateboards vs. The World

Why wait for sick skate photos to show up in your favourite mag on the news stand every month, when you can check out sick skate photos of local Manitoba skaters and beyond right here...every day at Pancakes and Skateboards!

I love most skate mags and flip through them again and again...and again. Unfortunately they are only a small sample of what's out there in the skateboarding world. So I do my best to bring to you the best of what I like to call... "the under the radar" scene.

Today...I give to you...the full pipe session.

First the crew needs to clean it. This isn't a roll up to the skate park and skate kind of scenario.

Ross

Will puts on the final touches.

One of my favourite shots from the session. Will Power Ollie Fakie.

Will shreds this pipe with a vengence.

Kendall was there and tried anything and everything. Unfortunatly he's currently down and out with an ankle injury...so this post is for you!

Darren Haugen with a whole different view of the Rock Fakie in the pipe.

Darren wrapped up the session... A definate day to repeat sometime soon.

Lord of the Lines...

...is going on right now. Finals 4:00pm today!

Concrete Chaos

Mark from Boardanyone reflecting on the possibilities of the wonderful day ahead.

Andrea is another friendly Kenora local helping Mark and the Boardanyone crew run a smooth contest.

The Judges

Either this guy is under contractual obligation to Gatorade or he is paranoid someone is putting roofies in the drinks?....or neither.

9 year old Travis came with the Winnipeg crew. He worked hard on this board slide to advance to the finals.

Winnipeg represent.

Nursing a BMX collision injury.

Shane also came from Manitoba and broke out enough tricks to secure 4th place in the Intermediate class including this huge melon grab.

There were a few Manitoban spottings. Charleswood represent!

The bleachers cleared fast when the advanced class started their runs.

Things started getting out of hand!

Kendall ripped up the bowl.

David with an ollie fakie.

If you must question the tattoo...

This guy is the local Trasher without a doubt.

No holds barred.

Thrash or be thrashed!

I think most of the locals knew the outcome of the contest before it started. Steve ripped every corner of the park.

3 flip

$450 in the pocket!

This is a don't miss event!

Double Rainbow

See Jack

See Jack skate.

See Jack skate some more.

Witness the power of the double rainbow in Oak Bank, Manitoba

I was inspired to include this post skate session rainbow in this blog entry because Rich Terfry was talking about double rainbows on CBC Radio 2 Drive on my way home from work today.

He was referring to this wonderful double rainbow video

Which was inspired by this wonderful little clip.

Which unfortunately inspired someone to make this video...and for the locals...yeah that's a Winnipeg back drop. Yikes!

Now that you know everything there is to know about double rainbows...please go and enjoy your Friday night.

p.s. Dear Kenora, See you in the a.m.!
