In between days

It's not like us to not be out and about, documenting our world and doing our best to share our experiences on a daily basis, but this last week's weather was lame for a spring break...so we hid indoors and the cameras collected dust. It's just that simple.

There's no reason to say anything negative about the following clip. 12yr old Tom Schaar with skateboarding's first 1080.

With a little help from our friends...

From time to time we give stuff away on our twitter and facebook pages. Our friend Heather will vouch for that. The other day she was the first to answer a simple Decendents related trivia question and we sent her a package containing shirt and a fist full of stickers.

Now she's putting her prize package to good use while in New York City.

We appreciate it!

Send in your photos that show P&S shirts, zines or stickers and we'll likely post them on our submit page!

You'd love to see your own photos, illustrations or drawings in the next P&S Zine? Contact us, attempt to convince us you deserve your own page or two and we'll see what happens!

Epic Beard Man on the big screen

Danny Trejo takes Epic Beard Man to the big screen.

Epic Beard Man doesn't ring a bell? This should refresh your memory or provide some insight if you have no idea what we're talking about.

I get around.

Time was short today so we had to pull an in and out when we dropped by the flea market. Treasure hunt in thirty minutes or less!

That's just enough time to catch some classics like this skateboarding various artists LP.

Thinking about becoming a photographer? This kit is good to go!

As for the actual find of the of the day, I decided to purchase these tin photos. They were just oddball, tiny and creepy enough.

This one being the creepier of the two of them due to the fact that someone has poked the eyes out of this lady's face.

That's that!

Catch up

We've been slacking... So to make up for lost time we're re-posting some old and new inspirational clips from our friends at Winnipegskateboarding.com

Crotches make the world go round'

A few times in the past we've changed the camera angle to present crotch shots.

It just so happens that the owner of this crotch shot back in 2009...

...introduced us to the owner of this crotch this past weekend. This shot features Mr. Sprinkles the raccoon belt buckle so it's that much more awesome.

Upon further investigation we realized that if you take a step back that the owner of that same crotch has graced our blog in the past when Dan Neufeld was kind enough to share his Central Canada Comic Con photos.

Some days you need a good sense of humour to read our blog and other days you need that same sense of humour to be featured in it!

Thanks Mélissa!

Fun and games

Yesterday started off like any other great weekend day. We ate our pancakes, some friends dropped by and we headed to The Plaza. We skated, we took some photos like this one...

Keiran Zimmerman switch frontside heel flip.

Brennan was down to let me capture this feeble.

Just when I thought I was unlike the photographer in Crailtap's satirical "Shit Skateboard Photographers Say" video. I open my big mouth and point out to Brennan that I caught the feeble a bit late and maybe we should get one more shot.

This is what I saw through the lens when that was going down...

Shortly after I saw this...

What are those guys looking at? Board meets camera, camera meets face! Still smiling!

Thanks for the photo Peter and thanks to the kind staff at the Misericordia for the great service and the five stitches. Thanks to me for letting Olga use me as her first victim. I guess it was training day... Rock, paper, scissors you stitch up the photographer!

I was brought in to this world in that building...so I do trust them and often go back there as my first choice for repair! Thanks to Canada's health care system I'm still under warranty.

Last night

So last night we decided to meet up with the ex-roommate for dinner as he just arrived back to town the day before.

We brought a friend.

Shortly after our arrival at the Lo Pub Bistro we realized there was no shortage of friends. Newform Label was next door setting up for a Rippers/Dangercat show.

Ruben was down for some grub.

Fulmore was representing as well.

More often than not, where there's Fulmore there's Nathan.

...and then there was Chris.

This kid doesn't need any specific reason to have a good time, but being 1/8 Irish is just one more reason to get crazy...

...cause just in case you didn't know. Joey was present as well reminding everyone that it was indeed St. Patrick's Day.

Grady Kuly shows up and we capture this first try blunt on the vert quarter!

The countdown

So the official countdown is on and with only three days left at The Angry Ramp you know what he have to do. So here we are making the most out of the time we have left!

Josh Thorvaldson blunt kick flip!

David Seburn has grown to love this ramp as much as he loves the boneless and all of its variations.

What are the chances? Three dudes picking the same night to wear bright yellow t-shirts. This is the day before St. Patrick's Day and all. Maybe wearing yellow is just working your way through the rainbow to get to green. Perhaps those of us without yellow shirts weren't notified that it was yellow shirt day. Whatever the reason...our friends are awesome!

Karl made use of the coping that just keeps on going! 50-50 ollie out!

That's that!

Hibernation is over

We're in Winnipeg, it's mid March and the snow is gone....for the most part. That is a rarity. This good news translates to skate park clean up time, so get out their with your shovels and brooms and let's skate!

Since I have skate parks on the brain...I've convinced myself that we have to make a point of returning to Thunder Bay this summer to visit their park again at The Marina. The bowl is amazing (thanks to New Line). If you don't have a copy of P&S Zine Issue II, this will be your first time seeing this photo.

Jesus Esteban front side disaster!

The end is near...

So it was announced tonight that the garage The Angry Ramp is currently housed in has no choice but to revert back to it's original function of huge garage. This is transition is going down within about a week's time or less. So there's that. In the meantime, since we're almost out of time... we approached this news with the obvious reaction. Which was going ahead with the original plans of the night to enjoy the ramp with our friends.

This is some sort of approach the loose piece of coping riding switch, rattle it loose with a bonk, 5-0 up wooden edge of the extension and ride back down the transition. In short...gnar.

Waka picked a good night to drop by. Nose grind!

That's that!

Just around the corner

Warm weather has hit Winnipeg so it appears that full time outdoor skateboarding is just around the corner. In the meantime, we got down to business tonight with our friends right over here...

...back at The Angry Ramp

Justin stepping up his mini-rampin' game with a front side disaster.

David was adding layback 5-0's to his bag of tricks.

Caveman nose grind yank-in awesome thingy trick (that's the official name...you can look it up).

A great ending to a wonderful weekend!

A serious affair

Earlier tonight there was some serious food...

...more serious food.

There was of course just plain seriousness.

All seriousness aside, we were actually out having a good time at the Canadian Hemophilia Society Manitoba Chapter's 2012 Gala Dinner.

That's that.

It's still winter...

As it is still winter, there hasn't been as much going on as usual in the last week or two. I think there comes a point in every winter where I just run out of the same steam I've been running on since the grass was last green. I'll spend the remainder of the season on the edge until the snow starts to melt again and we can "play outside" on a regular basis.

Just when I was about to go purchase some Seasonal Affective Disorder lamps to brighten my day, Mr. French called me up on the telephone. Just the fact that I still have friends that prefer the telephone over electronic communication is something to get excited about. So while Mr. French and I side tracked whatever it was we were talking about which probably had a purpose in the initial part of the call, he starts a sentence with "when I worked at the golf course". Well I don't know much about that, but I do know a little about the golf course.

Do I play golf? Hell no, but we used to "trespass" through the golf course from time to time. During one of these trespassing adventures we stumbled across some sort of maintenance man's graveyard of sorts. One day I dragged the Yashica out to this sacred spot and took some photos on a day, much like today as far as the outside condition was. One of those photos looked just like this...

The first time I went to print that photo was the first time I exercised enough patience to use fiber based paper. Despite the superior results in comparison to resin coated paper, it was also the last time I used fiber based paper.

Out of all the objects that were stored in the middle of the woods, in the middle of the golf course old trucks and broken down antique equipment made sense. We felt that the random bones hanging high up in a tree in the same spot were far more intriguing...

Simply freaky.

TV Skateboards spotted on the b-sides

If there was ever a sequence of shots headed straight for a reject pile it could be one of the rare occasions there was a misloading of some film causing some double exposures. After twenty straight years in the ignore pile I decided to take a closure look at this "screw up" of a photo (or photos if you will).

When you take the time to look past the chaos you'll see some Winnipeg locals, and either Mike V or Ed Templeton? or??? ...signing autographs in this photo taken outside of SK8 Skates during the 1992 TV Skateboards demo.

Saturday night's alright!

It was that time again. Fred was feeling the need to throw a party... so he decided to host an Angry Ramp BBQ/pay the hydro bill party. This is Winnipeg so first order of business was digging a path...

Second order of business was to invite some friends...

Mark!

David!

You get the idea...

It was ironic that we tried to raise money for the hydro, because the neighborhood had a black out and we skateboarded via flashlight illumination for about fifteen minutes!

Take the money from the box...

...put it in the safe!

Fred!

Yeah Amanda did a rock fakie on the vert extension...no big deal!

This is an example of a what sort of facial expression one could expect when someone grabs your nut sack.

Just when we thought the party couldn't get any cooler than Teri-Ann's Welcome to Hell - Venom t-shirt...

...Brendon Sanderson shows up for his debut appearance at the Angry Ramp and throws down like he owns the place!

All hail Brendon Sanderson! He literally blew my mind. Thankfully Dillan Lavalee was their to document it all...so keep your eye out for that footage!
