The other day while reading Kobrah Magazine Issue 6 online, I came across an article by Jimmy Jackoff regarding skateboard photographers. The article included this fun little list of tips to skaters on how to treat their photographer:
1. Be on time. If you're late, bring beer and weed as a plea for forgiveness. Sometimes a cheeseburger is preferred. Find out ahead of time.
2. Wear the right gear. Consider the season, background foliage and time of day. Bring a few options, but don't try to pimp out your crummy sponsors too hard by wearing tons of said sponsor's crummy gear. You're photographer's an artist not a whore. However if your photographer is getting paid by said crummy sponsor in advance, crummy sponsor pimping is acceptable and encouraged.
3. Don't bail so much. You rip, so do that. If you're not ripping, commence ripping immediately.
4. Buy that motherfucker some Gatorade. Everybody loves some Gatorade. Get red, orange or lemon-lime. Don't get the rain unless he asks for it specifically, He probably will.
As much as I laughed when I read those tips I don't think they were tailored for my own tastes. One thing that always puts a smile on my face is when someone shows their appreciation for my efforts by sending awesome packages in the mail!
Thanks Zev! It's always nice to get paid, thanks is always appreciated and bonuses that couldn't have come at a better time can make a day!
Zev represents a few companies. I asked him who to thank for the shoes...Himself, C1rca, Fourstar Dist.or Newline Skateparks? He responded "all of the above". Thanks!
