I prefer to have my camera with me when I'm out and about in case a photo opportunity ever presents itself. Often, that's not the case. When your shutter release finger is getting itchy, sometimes you need to arrange a "photo shoot".
To me; that means meeting up with a willing photo subject with camera in hand and shoot some photos. I think the phrase "photo shoot" is a poor choice for a phrase that I use as the prospective subject often jumps to being concerned about location, backgrounds etc...
I think I'm going to start asking potential photo subjects if they'd like to meet up for a round of "point and shoot". Reason being is that for me, some of the best photo results in my opinion have always come from the simple act of pointing and shooting...
