The Lesson

Out of the many things I thought I might do in this lifetime "when I grow up", one of them has always been being a teacher. A "student-teacher" friend was looking for someone to do a photography presentation to some kids at one of the local middle schools and thanks to her for reaching out to me, I finally got to play teacher for an hour!

We discussed pancakes (and how delicious they are), skateboards, skateboarders, portraits, live music photos, mosh pits, photography, zines, cameras, the P&S App for iPad and more! It was probably the most fun I've ever had in a classroom ever!

I dug up some old photos for a slide show like this shot of Kip with a front side grind on the pool coping in Kihei, Maui

I showed them some behind the scenes moments from Mexico City...

...and the end results!

One bonus was getting to see J.P. who was just starting out in teaching when I was wrapping up high school! Having J.P. as a substitute teacher was like winning the teacher lottery!

Then there's Suzy. Not only did she put this all together for J.P.'s class, she also paid me in delicious cookies for my time!

It's always great to be appreciated and yes, the cookies are all gone! Thank you!
