Faces and places. Charleswood fall 2015 edition.
Bumped in to local photographer Stefan Ingthorsson at Komenda the other night.
He captured some David Desjarlais over the spine action.

Friday Night Lights
We noted the other day that our youth soccer team was on a break in between outdoor/indoor season. That doesn't mean we're taking a break from soccer all together of course!
My friend Bob is not just a skateboarder, landscape architecture guru, floor hockey hero and punk rock musician extraordinaire.... He's also the keeper for the Rowdies in the MSSL (Manitoba Senior Soccer League)!
Last night they had a match against FCK (Football Club Kildonan). Here are the photo highlights... Enjoy!

Bragging rights
If there's ONE THING Winnipeg does better than most cities I've ever had the pleasure of traveling to, it's Sunday Night Cruise Night.
That's that!

Scam Skate Grand Opening sneak peak.
Back in 2011 we stumbled across a local Portage La Prairie skate brand called SCAM SKATE. Steve Hilderbrand was showing us the local goods when we visited him at his old skate shop; Platform Skates
Back in 2009, they were just a couple of friends in high school who just happened to skateboard and enjoy silk screening shirts. Fast forward a few years later and now I'm here... Downtown Winnipeg to check out their new headquarters.
Scam Skate owners Gavin Barrett and Joel Baker stopping for only a brief moment for a photo op, as they were in the midst of the type of chaos one would expect when preparing for a Grand Opening.
These guys love skateboards of all shapes...
...and sizes! Yes, they made this giant deck themselves!
They currently offer shop decks...
...and custom decks!
The press.
Got to have a to-do list when making big plans!
Scam Skate team rider Cody Gallant is no stranger to us over here at Pancakes and Skateboards.
Team means teamwork. Cody helping out with some grip tape.
Joel doing the same.
Every detail matters.
All hands on deck. Helping with some new screens.
In house silk screening.
Manitoba!
Wanna save some money?
Check out the Skate Recycle program that they offer. Details in store. Long story short... second hand/reusable boards being sent to Costa Rica!
Wall to wall urethane wheels for you long board fans.
Trucks for all types of decks.
Scam Skate apparel.
Shirts, hoodies...
...caps!
They are also stocking many local brands such as Skate Betty, other apparel companies as well as apparel and custom decks for Dead Ranch.
Supporting the local music scene...
The SCAM SKATE is holding their Grand Opening tomorrow, Saturday September 13th 11:00am-9:00pm @ 414 Graham Ave. Check it out!
