Some people have expressed their opposition to labeling one day of the year "go skateboarding day" as every day should be "go skateboarding day". Well like it or not, for many...every day IS go skateboarding day and when kids are in school on June 21st and it pours rain when school lets out...you just got screwed out of one day of skateboarding.
Today was a perfect day to celebrate skateboarding and taking it to the parks and the streets. School is out, most people were off work...today was Canada day. People park illegally, drink in the streets and all sorts of things that the authorities turn a blind eye to as we celebrate our countries birthday. Similar to winning major sporting events... all of a sudden there is a free pass for lawlessness.
It was hot, it was humid, it was great. Illegal parking and public drinking or not, security guards were still getting paid double time and a half to ensure the skateboarders were in check. Fortunately for us...one friendly security guard was kind enough to let us know when his shift ended so we could snap a few photos. I'm keeping those shots on the back burner for now. In the meantime...
Kick ass looking mini parked outside Wordsworth.
