Let's go to the skate park!

I showed up to the Centre for Youth Excellence the same moment as our city mayor did. As I held the door open for him and his friends I overheard him say "Let's go to the skate park!" An impressive first order of business.

Our Mayor... Sam Katz

Obviously this event was a big deal. Dan Neufeld was on the scene!

Our "insider" is amongst those invited for the ribbon cutting ceremony and a tour of the facilities.

Architect Raymond Wan was one of the recipients of the plaques handed out to show the appreciation to various key people involved in the project of creating this state of the art Youth Centre.

There were speeches...

...generous Winnipegers were thanked for their donations, more money was donated as was art.

The ribbon was cut!

Andrew views the goings on from the skate park.

Yeah...the skate park! That's why we were there!

Allister from New Line tests out the facilities after helping build them!

Dan doesn't just take photos...front side slash!

Allister with a front side air!

A quick summary of my first few hours scoping out the new digs for The Edge Skatepark and borrowing Dan's board to take a few runs in the bowl...this place is going to be non-stop fun for those who visit once the doors open up to the public in January!!!

Interested in donating to the almost finished building? You can do so here.
