Flip Demo - Winnipeg

Back row...

...Human Rights Museum.

...front row!

Something big must be happening, even Lance Mountain is in attendance!

Ready, aim, fire!

Flip Demo!

Louie Lopez killing it on the hubba.

Matt Berger threw down some crazy tricks...

...all over the park!

Curren Caples blew people's minds on the "carpet"!

Number One Son barges at will! Oops!

Camera envy!

No paparazzi for this guy. Exit stage right!

Mandatory close up shot (Ryan Martin).

Who's that?

Lance Mountain!

Lance and the Flip crew put on an extraordinary demo! We hoped to see Lance rip up the bowl, but unfortunately that didn't happen. Not a big deal at all, cause these guys held nothing back and entertained to the fullest. They were all great with the kids (young and old) before and after the demo. Thanks for stopping off in Winnipeg!

Catrin's back in town!

Dead serious!

Dedication

This submission for the P/S Submit Page was a jaw dropper to say the least!

Straight ahead!

Shot this the other day after finishing up a project. I've posted a different shot of this tattoo in the past and I'm posting it again! A reminder to keep it on the straight path!

4v4

In local news... WSEU (Winnipeg South End United), held their inaugural 4v4 Tournament this weekend.

Number One Son joined up with "The Wild Boyz" and they took first place with pride!

A job well done!

F.T.W.

Food Truck Wars!

Just like The Food Network, but in real life.

That's what's up!

Unfortunately, if you'd like a little taste or even a full meal at a truck like this...

this...

...or that (or others not shown).

You'll have to be patient for this...

this...

...or that!

We were far too hungry. We stayed in a line that didn't budge for 20 minutes. While I was in line, I wondered if they operated at lunch hours at a snails pace as well. It'd be hard to make a living if such were the case! I digress...

We ventured off through Winnipeg's central neighborhood. Stuck at a traffic light at the local beer vendor and witnessed a tussle.

Finally arrived at our new destination! North Star Drive In.

Speaking of making a living...

...this place was taken over by new owners almost two years ago. It was our first visit since the change of ownership and it was nice to see that things were left the way they were! Super friendly to boot!

A visit to Steinbach

This past Monday marked the final 48hr countdown before the first day of school. A good enough reason to skip out of town for some skateboarding in Steinbach!

FRONTSIDE GRIND!

Going backwards

Sometimes we post chronologically and sometimes we don't. Last Sunday we left early to hit up a local skate park to push past new limits!

We bumped in to Malcolm. He matched!

Then a pit stop for some delicious breakfast at Stellas. Side note: All these years I never ventured in to a Stellas before, up until three weeks ago. This of course was my third visit already. The Vegan Mexican!

Funny how we JUST ATE, but yet couldn't pass up an invitation like this...

Fresh!

Indian Palace serving it up!

Line ups everywhere!

Lunchtime!

...for everyone!

What's going down? A gathering by the local Sikh Community for feasting, speeches and basically a huge party after their Nagar Kirtan procession downtown. This year marked the 409th Parkash Utsav of Shri Guru Granth Sahib.

Goods for sale!

Relaxing in the shade.

Putting in some bench time.

So many colours, so many photos to take!

It's an all ages affair!

Ready to perform.

Unfortunately, it was time for us to leave, but for the record... When this community says "Everyone Welcome", they mean it! There were approximately 20,000 people expected at this gathering and random strangers were constantly coming up to us to ensure we were being fed or trying some of the delicious food. Hospitality at it's finest! True friendly Manitobans!

Running out of time!

It's that time of year again! We're still a couple of months away from snow (hopefully), but the temperature drops faster at night and the sun goes down far too fast! No sunlight left? No problem! Caught Malcolm with a tre-flip after sunset two nights ago.

Side note

A lot of photos have been taken in the last few days. While I work on uploading those, I'll take this time to make a quick side note. I was gifted this nice looking Konica Auto S2 35mm rangefinder the other day (thank you Oksana) and I can't wait to take it out with a new roll of film.

It's not the first rangefinder I've ever used, but it will be the first one I can call my own! The shutter speed ring is stiff and needs some TLC or just plain use, but everything else seems to be in fine working order. This camera will not go to waste! For the collector nerds; I couldn't find anywhere on the web to help me figure out what year this one was made by serial # (I think approximately 1965), but I can tell you that this camera has a fixed 45mm, 1.8 lens with a shutter speed of up to 1/500 and a built in light meter.

Stay tuned for the results!
